no smoking in ireland, and by that we mean dublin
Monday, Mar 29 2004 | 2 comments

Ireland's smoking ban in public places (hotels, pubs, restaurants, etc) officially went into efect today, much to patrick's dismay. His flight is scheduled to arrive in dublin this morning. and boy is he going to be pissed. but i think he will handle it just fine.

b: "you know, now that means you won't be able to spend all day at the guinness brewery"
p: "oh yes i will. guiness is more powerful than cigarettes"

Luckily, an article in the sun-times this morning confirms just as i expected: no one outside of dublin is really planning on enforcing it. at least not self respecting everyman's pub. so he should be in the clear.

Yeah, everybody's pissed here about it. They are enforcing it in Dublin, they all threw out their ashtrays in the street to protest it, at least a bunch did. But i was right, i found heaven and it resides at St James Gate, Dublin, Ireland. 65 acres of tasty Guinness.
