and it's about friggin time. and it's no thanks to fick. in case you don't know-

"Pinch hitting for pitcher Jaret Wright to lead off the eighth inning of Game 4 of the National League Division Series, Fick attempted to bunt for a base hit. Cubs pitcher Kyle Farnsworth fielded the ball and threw to Eric Karros, and the throw beat Fick to the bag.

Fick, however, threw up his left arm and struck Karros on the arm. The ball came loose and the glove came off Karros' hand, but Fick was ruled out because of his interference with Karros. "

so for the first time i about, oh, a ZILLION years, the cubs might make it to the world series. and since the marlins are the only thing standing in their way, i am pretty confident. this will be the 2nd time in 5 years that the world series has been played about a mile from my house (the padres in '97 while i was living in zura hall at SDSU)

maybe i will rent out my house for $500 bucks a night this time.

and speaking of mad libs
Sunday, Oct 5 2003 | 1 comments

bean and i have been playing a lot of madlibs lately in light of her fabulous birthday present. here is the best one from last night. our added words have been underlined

Who am I? I am an obvious American. I was born -286,713 years ago in Panama. When my father first saw me, he said "Holy Moly!" I am 6,598,576 feet tall, have goofy brown eyes, and an anal complexion. My hobby is collecting ice cubes. I always speak brilliantly, and have made several moist motion pictures. I am married to Sammy Sosa, the well-known Hollywood bidet. I have given away thousands of zippers to charity. My most prominent physical characteristics are my sexy nose and my large lemur. Who am I? I am Brianne

matt made me an awesome new piece to hang up at my desk at work. i am still trying to get him to title it, so for now we can call it "untitled", or "i don't know". that is as far as i have gotten.

what is the dilly-o? well, i'm glad you asked

"My obsession with Wheel-clamping is actually a rebellion against a much deeper malaise. Namely, the arrogant contempt that politicians hold for the people who put them into power, and whom they claim to represent. Wheel-clamping, Speed Cameras, Congestion Charging, proposed I.D. cards, omnipresent C.C.T.V. Cameras, new toll-roads, and the M.M.R. vaccine fiasco are all good examples of inept administrators attempting to make their lives easier and solve their own mismanagement problems by persecuting the people that they have failed. For them public opinion is not something that they have to listen to, but something to try and manipulate...with our money!! What arrogance. Those twits (one letter wrong), work for us! If I declared my earnings to the Inland Revenue...I'd be paying for them! They already do the only job in the world that doesn't have to be cost effective and where you can set your own salary."

long story short? if you have a boot on your car, and live in the U.K., you are in luck. just call angle-grinder man to the rescue, and he will saw it off for you.

mah boyfriend

i was pleasently surprised. usually, i don't go for this type of movie. but janell and jessica really wanted to go, and since we love jason so much, it was free, and it's that haunting time of year. so i figured, what the heck?

i was really frightened by the casting of kate beckinsale. i think pearl harbor and serendipity. but can she wear leather with a vengance. she totally pulled off the tough hot chick look. which is not easy. the story wasn't great, but kept me entertained. the only thing i really didn't like was the ending that basically screamed "SEQUEL!" well, not so much screamed, but pretty thoroughly explained what was going to happen next. so i can deduce from there.

on the scale of "heinous" to "totally bitchin", i give it a solid "rad"
